late nights spent
breathing on unison
moving in concert
stroking with all the
desperation
of empassioned lovers
and
early mornings spent
sighing together
chests rising and falling
in unison
shifting in concert
and running our hands
finger be finger
along a back, a chest
a stubbly cheek
with all the comfort
of two people
in love.

Such a beautiful piece of writing that shows the emotional strength you have gained within another person as well as the calm you have gained from it. Congratulations on that and good luck in the future.
I miss love! Thanks for reminding me what that's like.
thanks cp, i think that's one of the most genuine (what i consider) complements my poetry has ever gotten.
OK I'm spent !
Was that a good complement too ?
Love is a golden thing that people strive for but an easy thing to loose. To keep a friendship from that after love is lost is all one can hope for but that is even questionable with the loss of love. To look back on the love you once had and remember the things said or written only remind you of that love putting the friendship you are trying to maintain in question itself. To miss love brings on missing the aspects of that love and the memories of the past. Friendship is something to strive for and maintain, the question is who will break it first when old love is involved.
that's really more up to you darling. i have never had a good history of keeping civil with my old flames, but if you can be what i need you to and not what everyone else has always been, maybe things will be different.
